In a significant development, the Supreme Court has ruled against the rejection of requests for live streaming of Lord Ram Lalla's 'pran pratishtha' in the upcoming consecration ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. The apex court emphasized that denial solely based on the presence of other communities in the locality is not permissible.

The court's directive came in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that alleged the Tamil Nadu government had imposed a ban on the live telecast of the ceremony. The government, however, clarified its stance, asserting that there is no prohibition on conducting screenings, special poojas, or bhajans during the occasion. The ruling follows an urgent plea by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against the alleged order by the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government, which was accused of prohibiting the live telecast at temples and public places.
